"How We Turned Trade Show Sounds into Music"

TASCAM is the professional audio division of TEAC Corporation, headquartered in Santa Fe Springs, California. The brand is known for its long-standing expertise in field recording and audio-for-video workflows, particularly through its DR series recording platforms.

For this project, TASCAM sought to combine its exhibition presence at a major trade fair for entertainment technology—visited by approximately 30,000 attendees—with a creative product presentation that would also generate compelling social media content. Rather than producing a conventional aftermovie that merely captured visual highlights, the goal was to place the product itself at the core of the experience.

As a leading manufacturer of field recorders, TASCAM's strength lies in capturing sound in real-world environments. We developed a concept in which the acoustic character of the exhibition space became the musical foundation of the film. An artist moved through the venue using a TASCAM DR recorder to capture everyday sounds such as escalators, entrance doors, and the unpacking of exhibition equipment. These recordings were transformed into a rhythmic sound collage that served as the soundtrack for the film.

The resulting piece provided authentic insight into the exhibition environment while clearly demonstrating the creative, hands-on use of the product in a real-world context. The film was well received on social media and successfully combined product demonstration, brand storytelling, and trade fair documentation into a single, coherent format.
